The World AIDS Day program was organized by Tagore college of Pharmacy on December 6, 2024.The event aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, combat stigma, and promote preventive measures among students and the broader community.
Theme:
The theme for World AIDS Day 2024 was “Ending Inequalities: Empowering Communities”, emphasizing the need for collective action to eliminate disparities in HIV prevention and treatment.
Objective:
The program sought to educate participants about the importance of early diagnosis, the availability of treatments, and the role of social support in combating HIV/AIDS.

The event began with an invocation and a moment of silence to honor those who have lost their lives to AIDS.
Welcome Address
The Principal warmly welcomed all attendees and emphasized the significance of World AIDS Day in spreading awareness and fostering inclusivity. Delivered a keynote address on the importance of early testing, treatment advancements, and the role of education in reducing new infections. A healthcare professional highlighted the psychological and social challenges faced by individuals living with HIV and shared success stories of overcoming stigma.
Poster Exhibition: Creative posters designed by students’ showcased messages of hope, equality, and prevention.
Pledge and Red Ribbon Distribution:
All participants took a pledge to support individuals living with HIV/AIDS and eliminate stigma. Red ribbons were distributed as a symbol of solidarity.
